Correspondence, diaries, photographs, press clippings, programs, and ephemera documenting the career of internationally celebrated cabaret and cafe singer/pianist Hildegarde Loretta Sell (known professionally as "The Incomparable Hildegarde"), a native of Adell, Wisconsin who attended the Marquette University School of Music in 1924-1925. Most of the documents are contained in an extensive collection of diaries and scrapbooks.

Born Hildegarde Loretta Sell, Hildegarde began working in Vaudeville in the 1920s and also worked as a night club singer.
